I thought I’d take it easy for the month of December… last year I was so busy, I decided that for 2015 I would block out about 2-3 weeks during the end of December and January for “stay-cation”…. but, well, you know me!! There is no slowing down!! I have marked those weeks off on my calendar, so I’m trying really hard to get as much done as I can NOW so I can take some time off and relax when daughter comes home from college at the end of this week. Wish me luck!
Something I’m involved in for 2016 is the Online Quilt Group over at Patchwork Posse. Becky created the “online guild” because she found it difficult to fit into a traditional guild schedule- I have to say, I totally understand that! I will be creating a project for the month of May- I have a bunch of cute ideas, and I plan to get to work on it very soon… maybe over Christmas vacation?? (I don’t consider designing and sewing to be “work”- that’s the fun part! For me, the “work” comes in writing and proofreading the pattern- not my favorite part….)
please note- There has been some trouble with the links. First they were working… then they weren’t working…. now they appear to be working again. If for some reason the links don’t work when you try them, please check back later. Thanks for your patience!!!
When you join the Online Quilt Group, you get a lot of stuff: well-over 40 projects! You will get downloadable PDF patterns for Two Block of the Month projects, 6 mini quilts, set of 13 tea towels, stuffed animals, printables, bags, pin cushions, and more! To see more about the projects- click here.
The skill level for this club is Beginner – Confident Beginner. Because of the community atmosphere, you are able to get help if you are stuck, ask questions and share a hint. And because of the guest designers and variety of patterns, you will be exposed to a rounded amount of different styles and techniques, including applique, embroidery, paper piecing, patchwork, hand sewing hexagons etc.
My project will be exclusive to the Online Quilt Group! Other guest designers are: Bustle & Sew, Christa Quilts, SewCanShe, GillyMac Designs, Esch House Quilts, Quilty Habit, Hope’s Quilt Designs, May Chappell, Cute Quilt Patterns, and New Leaf Stitches. Learn more about the Guest Designers here.
The important stuff: You can sign up here! The price is $35/year- but a little birdie told me that the price will be doing up on January 1, so sign up now! And just wait till you hear this- sign up now and get all of the 2015 patterns for free as well!!! What?? That’s a crazy-good deal!!
In addition to getting all of those month pattern PDF files (download and save instantly), the group has a private Facebook group for members only. There you can share your own projects you are working on or have finished, meet and get to know the members from around the world, download patterns, and participate in the group. Everything is in one spot- simple and easy to use on your computer or on your phone. Besides the private Facebook group where you can upload pictures, ask questions and meet other members, you can also share your work over on Instagram- we’ll be using the hashtag #quiltguild and you can follow on Instagram here.
OK- don’t forget to sign up before the price goes up on January 1!
